Spooky season greetings from RAC! Okay, well, it’s ALMOST spooky season. We’re a few days away from October, and you know what that means… Halloween is COMING. To celebrate all things trick or treat, and keep you ahead of the seasonal trends, we’re back with our How to Go Viral series, just in time for October’s haunting vibes. It’s time to conjure up some bewitching content and elevate your engagement as we embrace all things Halloween. Let’s get straight into the eerie details!
Halloween 2024 costume predictions
Get ahead of the curve and create a TikTok video with 2024 costume predictions! As people gear up for the Halloween season, they will be looking for original costume ideas. You can even make it music-themed, like Chappell Roan-inspired costumes, or, as Bella B predicts will be big, Sabrina Carpenter-themed costumes. You can make a casual “get ready with me” style video while you make your predictions, edit together a little mood board like helloacinth, or try on the fits and show them off like Haley Robinson. Since this type of content will be popular for the next month, you could even include an original song in the background and try to get your music trending at the same time! On this same wavelength, you could do a roundup of iconic costumes from 2023, or of all time, in a slideshow or talking-head with examples format.
Write an original Halloween song
What better way to celebrate Halloween than with your very own seasonal song? Although artists like margø are seemingly in spooky mode all year long, around this time of year, her original songs fit perfectly with the season. She uses that to her advantage in her content, like with her videos promoting her song r.i.p., where she specifically shouts out Halloween in most of her content. Her other songs like “marionette” and “guts” also fit well for Halloween content. Meanwhile, artists like Charlie Curtis are pulling inspo from other Halloween videos, and using that content to create a Halloween rap – proving there are tons of unique ways to celebrate the season. You can also do your makeup on theme, hop on the mic, and write a little spooky hymn like Ellysa.
Spooky-themed cover or performance
Cover an already-trending Halloween song! If you add a cool twist and turn it into a sound on TikTok, other creators can use it for their spooky content, which helps draw people to your page or bring awareness to your music. Daedricofficial created a short clip covering “This Is Halloween” which amassed over 826.8k likes on the platform. Margot Beylier created a “duet this with instruments” call to action with her video performing “Sally’s Song” from cult classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is a smart way to get other creators to interact with your content. If you don’t sing, you can still perform on your instrument of choice, like Prestyn Smith ripping a guitar solo blindfolded to the Ghostbusters theme. You can even get your whole band involved like Crimson Apple!
Use trending Halloween sounds!
Here’s a list of some of the currently trending TikTok Halloween sounds:
Halloween – cute horror song – PeriTune
This Is Halloween – Hairy & Scary Creatures
Spooky Scary Skeletons – Andrew Gold
Halloween Theme – John Carpenter & Cody Carpenter
Original sound by comfort_tv_ – Contains: Rock the Night (Original Mix)
Original sound by: sp6okz – Contains Gallowdance
And lastly, general Halloween content
It’s easy to get caught up in how to be original with your content, so don’t forget to share videos or photos of your Halloween experience, whether that be a GRWM (get ready with me) for Halloween, videos or pictures of your costume, decorating your apartment, or anything that feels fitting to you! If you’re a cinephile, you could make a list and share your favourite scary movies or your favourite all-time Halloween soundtracks. The possibilities are endless! Just do what feels fun.
There are countless ways to cast a spell on your audience, so get out there and showcase yourself in your own spine-chilling way this month! Plus, experimenting with new ideas can be a wickedly good time… Okay, we’re done with the puns. Happy spooky season to all, and to all a ghoulish night!
