Recording Arts Collective is a family comprising some of the most promising homegrown musicians on the rise today. These are a mix of Recording Arts Concert Series standouts, students, and alumni with whom we've seen remarkable potential and chosen to work with closely to showcase, represent, and provide facilitative support. Along the way we've also created a dynamite hub for our audience to experience great new, local music.
Recording Arts Workshops are free events intended to connect our students, grads, and emerging artists with industry juggernauts. These acclaimed producers, engineers, and artists come to RAC to host weekend events including seminars, Q&As, cyphers, jams, and recording sessions. It provides those in attendance the opportunity to network with fellow artists and get a foot in the door with our highly-connected hosts. Our latest host, Sean Paine, is the head studio engineer for Gucci Mane and took home with him a number of CDs, flash drives, and phone numbers from promising local acts with the hopes of matching these artists with his own network within the Atlanta hip hop community. The credits of past hosts include: Gucci Mane, Future, Young Thug, 2Chainz, Migos, Fetty Wap, Waka Flocka, Sosa, Soulja Boy, and Bone Thugs n Harmony, to name a few.
Recording Arts Blog covers fresh new artists from around the world, but puts an emphasis on the latest developments in Montreal's dynamic independent music community. Stay informed with New Music posts, daily Song Of The Day posts, and promoted playlists. We cross paths with a lot of artists through this promotional tool, and we encourag artists to reach out to us to help spread their music to new ears.
Recording Arts Concert Series is a monthly event held to expose Montreal's most promising rising talent in a friendly competition for a recording session in one of RAC's Montreal studios. The event is hosted at La Sala Rossa on Boulevard Saint-Laurent and is judged by a panel of local industry professionals. Put on entirely by a staff of RAC students, the event is also an opportunity for our students to translate the skills they've acquired in the classroom to a professional live sound mixing environment.
Check out some excerpts from the latest RAC Workshop, featuring two Grammy-winning mixers who came out to share some advice, host a mixing seminar, and scout the local talent.
